Hi All,

Some updates from the Northwest Andalusian Horse Association:

Newsletter Content Needed
Joanna Wayland and Alex Crippen, NWAHA newsletter editors, are eagerly awaiting your Ranch News, articles, classified ads, and stories of the good times you are enjoying with your IALHA-registered horses.

If you have any stories or photos to share, or would like to place a classified ad in the newsletter, please contact Joanna directly (rockinjhorsetraining@yahoo.com) to send her your material via e-mail. All material must be received by Saturday, July 16, 1 pm.

They will be working on the newsletter this weekend, so don't tarry!

Remember, Classified Ads are FREE to members of NWAHA. If you have not yet renewed your Northwest Andalusian Horse Association membership, you can do so online at nwaha.org.

Interested in Serving on the NWAHA or IALHA Board?
Also, if you would be interested in running for the NWAHA or IALHA Board of Directors, please let me (Julie Alonzo: jalonzo@uoregon.edu) know. It's about time we start thinking about our next round of elections. No experience necessary, just a willing attitude and a desire to lend a hand in promoting the Andalusian and Lusitano (and all the magnificent half-Andalusian crosses).

Upcoming Shows in Our Region
Don't forget that the PAALH show is just a few weeks away ~ and the Oregon State Fair is not long after. Look for more information about both events on the IALHA.org  and PAALH.com websites.

Working Equitation Clinics and Photo Shoots
We also have two opportunities to participate in Working Equitation clinics with an International Lusitano and Working Equitation Judge from Portugal coming up in our region: One not far from Boise, Idaho in Harper, Oregon (August 6 - 7) and the other in Eugene, Oregon (August 12-13). I'm attaching the clinic sign up sheet in case you have not yet received it. We still have quite a few openings for riders in the eastern Oregon venue and a few spots left at the Eugene clinic.

Photographer Hannah Givas is willing to come to the Harper location for photos (if people sign up in advance). For a private mini-session, she will charge $50 for the first horse, $75 for multiple horses owned by the same person. This price will include a photo shoot session, either ridden or liberty in turnout pen (after clinic hours). Digital images will be available for $99 (low resolution photos, suitable for personal web use), $225 for high resolution photos, with a release for all personal use). Session fee is due at time of sign up. Please contact Hannah directly if you are interested or to get more information. www.pixallphotos.com, (208) 818-0614 or (if calling from Canada) (509) 443-5208.

Photographer Alex Crippen will be at the Eugene location for photos and possibly private video sessions as well. For previews of Alex's work, visit www.panoramicartistry.com. Interested in auditing the clinic and participating in the photo shoot? We definitely have room to accommodate multiple horses, including youngsters and stallions. Alex specializes in photographing Andalusians. As a special offer this year, she has begun to make beautiful full color vinyl stall door signs (3 feet x 1.5 feet). Ask her to send you an example; they make GREAT advertising for the breed!  You can reach Alex at alex@panoramicartistry.com for more information.

Classical Dressage Clinic with Carol McArdle
The second weekend in August also brings an opportunity to participate in a classical dressage clinic with Carol McArdle, taking place on August 6-7, up in Washington.  If you had not previously signed up to ride, but would like to for the August date - let Linda deWilde-Petersen know (lilaclinda@gmail.com)! It should be a great clinic, and we would love to have you join us.

Ride: $85/ each day
Audit: $10/ each day
Lunch: $5 /day or feel free to pack your own
Tapas party/armchair lecture (Sat Eve) $20/ person.
**with sponsorship funds from NWAHA, the Tapas party is FREE for the riders.**
**Because NWAHA insurance is covering this event, all RIDERS must be current NWAHA members ($35-40, go to NWAHA.com)**

ALSO - if the weather cooperates, there could be photo shoot opportunities in the wooded (fenced) pasture across the creek at the facility. More on that soon (Linda may try to contact fabulous photographer DeeDee Murry who has done several photo shoots here at the farm in the past)

Hope you're getting out there and enjoying your horses!
