2007 Go for Baroque Breed Show Results  - in PDF format

Hello from your club President and Show Co-Chair, Julie Alonzo!

First, a HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteered their time at the Go for Baroque show this past weekend. Although we don't yet have our final financial reports back from the show, it looks like the event was successful not only financially, but also from the standpoint of having enthusiastic participants and interested spectators.

Events such as this are only made possible through the hard work of many people, a few of whom I would like to thank publicly here.

I would like to acknowledge Pedro Munoz Sanchez for organizing the Dancing Horse Competition that brought the level of audience enthusiasm up to new levels. This Saturday night event lured spectators from as far away as Seattle and brought tremendous excitement to our show, as many audience members lingered after the competition was over to visit with members in the barn. (In fact, the dancing horses were such a hit that show organizers from PAALH are considering adding a similar event to their Canadian National Show next month!)

Gary Camp, our esteemed gate-keeper and builder-of-the-judge's-stand, was joined at his post this year by two of our friends from the North, Bette-Lyn Eger and Holly Comeau, who traveled from Canada to participate in and volunteer at the show on Saturday and by Linda deWilde-Peterson on Sunday.

Vicki Sperline, who lives near the Trails End facility, was an invaluable source of assistance, helping recruit participants as well as our EMTs, our farrier, and even decorations for the judge's stand. Her help was greatly appreciated!

Linda deWilde-Peterson, Gary Camp, and Lisa Keeble stayed on Sunday to help out with the many tasks related to cleaning up and packing up all the materials used throughout the weekend.

Lis Son's daughter Suzie spent hours out in the center of the ring with my neice and nephew, handing out blue ribbons on Saturday and keeping a responsible eye on her younger assistants.

So... what sort of turnout did we have?

Well, in all, we had 40 unique horse/rider entries (8 half-Andalusians and 25 pure Andalusians... some of them handled by more than one person to give the 40 total) at the show.

And where do things stand for the Pacific Rim awards?

Currently these results are being verified, check back soon for show results and Pacific Rim Standings.
