Watch here for details of the upcoming Carol McArdle clinic on May 9-11, 2008 in Vancouver WA

March 1/2, 2008: Dressage Clinic with Carol MacArdle, Havilah Equestrian Center, Enumclaw, WA

It was a great clinic!  If you missed it, watch here for news of another McArdle clinic coming soon to Oregon.

Bio - Carol McArdle:

Carol has spent her life in pursuit of knowledge and has trained horses to the international level in multiple disciplines.  Growing up in Europe she specialized in show jumping and eventing. After studying Zoology and Evolutionary Biology at the Univ. of Wash., she returned to Europe to compete for the US Equestrian Team.   During this time Carol was a constant student of Christopher Bartle, and under his guidance she turned her focus to pure dressage.  Carol competed Grand Prix in Europe and was short listed for the World Games and the Olympics.   She was reserve rider for both the Seoul and Barcelona Olympics.

After competing for many years, Carol focused on learning and understanding the differences and similarities between the French, German and Iberian Classical systems. In 2003 she was invited to be a student at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez, Spain and also studied under the tutelage of several former riders from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.

A strong advocate of Classical Equitation, Carol stresses the importance of understanding equine biomechanics as a basis for all training.  She is a gifted instructor with an articulate, calm demeanor who has perfected the art of teaching both the human and the horse. She is familiar with all aspects of training and is a great problem solver. Participants of past clinics with Carol have expressed uniform enthusiasm about her supportive and encouraging attitude. Combining her knowledge of conformation, mechanics of movement and rider balance, she transforms horse/rider pairs into true partners.
